ROOTS & BRIDGES and the Safe Parks
We are a registered non-profit from Germany with our own organisation in South Africa. In the rural Mkhondo region we build and develop Safe Parks: safe places in the heart of the communities where children find protection, food and support after school and during the holidays. We plan, fund and run the projects ourselves, together with trained staff from the communities.

Frequently asked questions
Does every client get their own certificate?
No, you receive one shared certificate for all your clients. It names your company, your greeting and the chosen cause. You get it as a PDF and as an image that you can place directly in your Christmas email, newsletter or a LinkedIn post.
Does the entire donation really arrive?
Yes. 100 % of your donation goes to the chosen cause. Our administrative costs are covered by long-term funding partners and are not paid from donations.
Do we receive a donation receipt?
Yes. ROOTS & BRIDGES gGmbH is a recognised non-profit in Germany. You receive a donation receipt issued under German law (Zuwendungsbestätigung), using the company details from checkout.
Companies based outside Germany receive the same receipt. Whether it is accepted by the tax authorities in your country depends on local law and cannot be guaranteed by us. Please check with your tax advisor.
Is the certificate a tax receipt for our clients?
No. The certificate is a symbolic confirmation for your clients that a donation was made on their behalf. Only the donation receipt issued to your company is relevant for tax purposes.
Our compliance rules only allow small amounts. Is that possible?
Yes. You can donate from €5 per client. If you would rather donate a fixed total amount, just write to us and we will find a suitable solution.
When do we receive the certificate?
Usually within 3 working days of receiving payment. To make sure your clients get everything before Christmas, please order by 15 December.
How can we pay?
By bank transfer, by invoice via Klarna or directly online. For bank transfers you receive our bank details at checkout and by email. The donation is complete once payment is received.
Who carries out the projects?
We do. ROOTS & BRIDGES plans, funds and runs the Safe Parks in the Mkhondo region, with our own organisation in South Africa and staff who come from the communities and know the families. We report on progress regularly.
If a cause is already fully funded or cannot be implemented as planned, we reserve the right to use the donation for another statutory purpose of ROOTS & BRIDGES, so that no money sits unused.
May we use the campaign in our own communications?
Absolutely. Tell your clients and your team about it, for example in your Christmas mailing, on your intranet or on LinkedIn. The certificate image is made for exactly that.
