Safe Parks Explained
Safe Parks are protected areas where children can play and grow up safely, away from violence and insecurity.
In Safe Parks, children are supervised and safely cared for by trained staff. Safe Parks are the first and often only point of contact for children in rural areas.
The Safe Parks enable targeted support and care for children directly on site in the rural communities.
Safe Parks protect children in Africa from abduction, sexual violence, arbitrary violence and injuries. Here they can simply be children.

Positive role models are trained and pass on their knowledge
Responsibilities of the Safe Parks
Early Childhood Development (0–5 years)
In the Safe Parks, young children receive daily care, playful learning, and emotional security.
Through consistent routines, early support, and loving guidance, they develop language, trust, and fundamental skills.
Play is an important part of learning.
This strengthens the children's cognitive, social, and motor skills.
At the same time, local caregivers are trained.
This sustainably improves the quality of early childhood education directly within the community.
School gardens & nutrition education (6–16 years)
In school gardens, children learn in a hands-on way how food grows and how healthy eating works.
They plant, care for, and harvest together, taking responsibility for their own beds.
Children understand where their food comes from and learn to care for themselves. This strengthens their self-confidence, their environmental awareness, and their respect for nature and resources.
The harvest from the gardens also supports the meals in the Safe Parks.
Building Skills & Confidence (Ages 6–16)
Excellence Programme
In the Safe Parks, structured Excellence Programmes foster the personal strengths of children and young people.
Through sports, music, and creative activities, they develop discipline, team spirit, perseverance, and self-confidence.
Participants choose fixed focus areas and train regularly.
Especially dedicated young people can become role models for others as "Ambassadors of Excellence."
Female Empowerment
The Safe Park is a safe haven for menstrual hygiene and education. This helps to reduce shame, prevent school dropouts, and strengthen self-esteem.
With our counselling center Door of Hope, we also help women with unplanned pregnancies and conduct preventive educational work with teenagers in the Safe Parks.
This teaches children and young people: "I can do something. I am seen. I have a future."
Financial & Economic Education (Ages 16–18)
Young people are prepared for an independent adult life.
They learn fundamental financial concepts such as saving, planning, and responsible money management.
Additionally, they gain initial insights into entrepreneurship and simple business models.
Supported by mentoring and practical tasks, they develop their own ideas and small projects.
The goal is to create prospects for employment, self-employment, and a self-reliant life.
