GENERAL TERMS AND CONDITIONS (GTC)
of ROOTS & BRIDGES gGmbH
OVERVIEW
Welcome to ROOTS & BRIDGES gGmbH. These General Terms and Conditions govern the use of our online shop as well as the purchase of goods, digital products, and services, as well as the submission of pure, non-earmarked donations. By using our website and services, you agree to these terms and our Privacy Policy.
ROOTS & BRIDGES gGmbH exclusively and directly pursues non-profit purposes within the meaning of the German Fiscal Code. All profits generated are used for our charitable projects. Communication regarding the impact of our products (e.g. “With every purchase you support…”) does not constitute a legally binding earmarking. The use of funds is carried out exclusively in accordance with our statutes.
1) SCOPE AND PROVIDER
These GTC apply to all contracts concluded via our online shop between ROOTS & BRIDGES gGmbH and its customers, in particular for the purchase of goods, digital products, services, and donations.
Conflicting terms of the customer shall not apply unless we expressly agree to them in writing.

2) ACCOUNT AND ACCESS
When creating an account, the customer undertakes to provide complete and accurate information and to keep access data secure. Accounts may not be transferred or sold.
3) PRODUCT AND SERVICE CATEGORIES
Our shop includes the following categories:
- Physical goods, including clothing, coffee and tea, accessories, home goods, decorative items, sewing products, and similar future products.
- Digital products, including downloads, e-learning content, and digital materials.
- Services, including workshops, seminars, travel, and digital consulting services.
- Pure donations, explicitly designated as such and without any consideration.
A purchase of goods, digital products, or services is not a donation and does not entitle you to a donation receipt. Profits from sales are used for charitable projects in accordance with our statutes.
4) CONCLUSION OF CONTRACT
The presentation of products and services in the online shop does not constitute a legally binding offer. Only the customer’s order constitutes an offer to conclude a contract.
A contract is concluded when we:
a. send an order confirmation via email, or
b. receive a donation payment or agree on a sponsorship, or
c. initiate delivery, if no prior confirmation has been sent.
The contract language is German.
The contract text will be provided by email after conclusion of the contract. Customers with accounts can view orders there.
5) PRICES, TAXES AND DONATION DISTINCTION
All prices for goods and services include statutory VAT.
For donations:
- Pure donations are exempt from VAT.
- Donation receipts can only be issued for payments without consideration.
- Any purchase of goods or services is not a donation, even if communication refers to impact.
Donation receipts:
- are usually issued digitally
- can be sent by post upon request
- are issued in accordance with Section 50 EStDV by the end of February of the following year
- require complete information, otherwise the donation is treated as anonymous
6) PAYMENT METHODS
We offer the following payment methods: Shopify Payments, Stripe Payments, PayPal, Klarna, credit card, Google Pay, Apple Pay, Amazon Payments, and invoice where available. The terms of the respective payment providers apply.
7) RIGHT OF WITHDRAWAL FOR GOODS AND SERVICES
The statutory right of withdrawal applies to goods in accordance with our withdrawal policy.
No right of withdrawal exists for:
- sealed hygiene products after opening
- perishable goods
- custom-made products
- digital products after download has started
- services once performance has begun at the customer's request
8) NO RIGHT OF WITHDRAWAL FOR DONATIONS
There is no right of withdrawal for donations explicitly designated as such.
9) SHIPPING AND DELIVERY
Shipping is carried out via parcel service providers. Delivery times are non-binding estimates and may vary due to dropshipping, customs, or logistics processes.
If delivery fails for reasons attributable to the customer, additional costs shall be borne by the customer.
For deliveries outside the EU, additional fees, taxes, or customs duties may apply and must be borne by the customer.
If goods are unavailable due to lack of supply, we may withdraw from the contract. Payments already made will be refunded.
In dropshipping deliveries, ROOTS & BRIDGES gGmbH remains the contractual partner and responsible party.
10) DIGITAL PRODUCTS AND ONLINE SERVICES
Digital content is provided via download link or email. The customer must ensure their email address is functional.
11) PERFORMANCE OF SERVICES
Services are performed according to the agreed scope, time, and location. The exact content is defined in the respective offer.
The customer must provide necessary information and attend agreed appointments. If these obligations are breached, we may withdraw or charge for partial services.
Cancellations are free up to 14 days before the appointment. Between 14 and 7 days: up to 50% fee. Afterwards or no-show: full fee, unless lower damage is proven.
We may cancel services due to low participation or other reasons. Payments will be refunded or rescheduled. Further claims are excluded unless due to intent or gross negligence.
Additional conditions may apply to travel services. Customers are advised to consider travel insurance.
12) FOOD INFORMATION
For food products such as coffee or tea, ingredients and storage instructions apply as stated on product pages. Opened products are excluded from withdrawal.
13) RETENTION OF TITLE
Goods remain our property until full payment has been made.
14) WARRANTY
Statutory warranty rights apply.
15) LIABILITY
We are fully liable for intent, gross negligence, and injury to life, body, or health. For slight negligence, liability is limited to foreseeable damage. Otherwise, liability is excluded where legally permissible.
16) INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY
All content and trademarks are owned or licensed by ROOTS & BRIDGES. Unauthorized use is prohibited.
17) USE OF THIRD-PARTY TOOLS AND SHOPIFY
Shopify provides the technical infrastructure. Contracts are concluded solely between the customer and ROOTS & BRIDGES gGmbH.
18) DATA PROTECTION
Our Privacy Policy explains data processing, including Shopify, Zoho, payment providers, shipping, and donations.
19) FEEDBACK
By submitting feedback, the customer grants us the right to use it free of charge.
20) PROHIBITED USE
Misuse of our services is prohibited, including manipulation, illegal content, spam, or technical interference.
21) VOUCHERS
Gift vouchers are valid for three years. Cash payout is excluded.
22) TERMINATION
We may block access in case of violations.
23) SEVERABILITY CLAUSE
If any provision is invalid, the remaining provisions remain unaffected.
24) APPLICABLE LAW AND JURISDICTION
German law applies. For businesses, jurisdiction is Hamburg.
25) ALTERNATIVE DISPUTE RESOLUTION

We are neither obliged nor willing to participate in dispute resolution proceedings.
26) CHANGES TO THE GTC
We may update these terms.
