Play is the most important part of learning in the first years of life.

Children comprehend the world by touching, moving, trying out, and repeating things. This is precisely how important skills are developed that will accompany them throughout their lives.

Without suitable play materials, these impulses are missing.

Fine motor skills develop slower. Creativity remains limited. Self-confidence does not grow to the extent it could.

A child who can play learns. A child who has nothing to play with often falls short of their potential.

The Local Challenge

In rural regions, toys are not only expensive but often not available at all. What we take for granted is rarely present there.

At the same time, places are emerging where children are cared for and supported. These need materials with which children can learn actively.

And even outside these places, opportunities are lacking. Therefore, it's not enough to distribute toys once. They must be permanently accessible.

Our Approach: A Toy Library

We are setting up a Toy Library. Toys will be consciously used, borrowed, and reused there.

A portion will remain permanently at the ECD centers (kindergartens) so that children can work with them daily. Another portion will be mobile and reach children directly in the Safe Parks.

This creates a cycle that has a long-term impact and reaches many children. And, of course, provides variety.

The entire process is accompanied by local staff who manage the deployment and specifically support children in their play.
