Enable clean hands

What we take for granted can determine health or illness in many rural regions. A lack of washing facilities. No clean water. No soap.

Children especially play outside all day long. Often, there are no fixed sanitary facilities. Hands are not washed in between because the possibility simply doesn't exist. This allows infections, diarrheal diseases, and other preventable illnesses to spread quickly.

Hygiene protects and preserves dignity

Regular handwashing significantly reduces the spread of diseases. It protects not only the individual child but entire groups in schools and safe parks.

Our work is based on the international WASH principle. Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene belong together. Clean water alone is not enough. Functional washing facilities and education are also needed.

With your donation, you make possible:

  • Soap and hygiene products
  • Water access and simple washing stations
  • Education on hygiene and health prevention
  • Regular supplies in our facilities

Clean hands mean fewer sick days. More school attendance. More stability in daily life. Fewer medical emergencies.

Small measure, big impact

Hygiene is one of the most effective and at the same time most cost-effective preventive measures of all. Sustainable protection can be created with comparatively few resources.

Children learn early to take responsibility for their health. They carry this knowledge into their families. This creates a long-term impact beyond the Safe Park.

Thank you for helping to prevent diseases and enable children to have a healthy start in life.

How is impact measured?

We use a comprehensive methodology to measure impact, which is based on qualitative and quantitative data. This includes surveys, interviews, case studies, and statistical analyses. We evaluate the short-term, medium-term and long-term effects of our projects on the target groups and the environment.

How transparently does ROOTS & BRIDGES operate?

For us, transparency is not an add-on, but a fundamental principle.

All uses of funds are based on documented requests from our local partners. Every project funding is reviewed, approved, and clearly allocated.

We regularly report on the progress, developments, and concrete impact of our work. This includes project updates, insights into the Safe Parks, partner reports, and a clear presentation of our administrative structure.

Our goal is not just to demand trust, but to earn it through openness. Donors should understand what their funds are used for and what long-term perspective this creates.

How much of my donation reaches the project?

Of your donation, 85% goes directly into the project work. This includes project expenses, monitoring and evaluation, as well as necessary local administrative costs. The remaining 15% is used for public relations, fundraising, and administration in Germany.
